Support for the Holidays

Every holiday season I set an intention to practice more gratitude and to avoid getting caught up in the busyness that comes with this time of year in order to really savor the joy and beauty of the season. And while my gratitude practice is feeling solid (lately), I usually struggle to stay present and not get overwhelmed by to-do lists, engagements and the collective energy that surrounds us. Because this is difficult to avoid, I take flower essences to help support me during this hectic time. They are the perfect answer to finding a calmer, more content state of mind.
If you're new to flower essences, here are a few essences that you can try during the holidays …
  • If you have too many things on your plate and need support keeping organized, try Rabbitbrush,   a great essence for focus and clarity.
  • If your to-do list is overwhelming and you’re exhausted by the thought of it, Elm is the remedy that offers confidence, endurance and peace of mind that all will be accomplished with perfect timing.
  • Lemon Balm helps quiet the mind and slow our racing thoughts so that we’re not feeling fearful, anxious or overwhelmed. This is a great remedy to help with sleep.
  • One of my favorite essences for addressing stress and anxiety anytime is Red Cedar. This is a tree essence that helps us feel safe and grounded and reminds us of the strength and wisdom that resides within all us.
  • Finally, consider taking flower essences to help protect your energy. Because the holidays are often a time when we’re interacting with many people, in crowds and/or exposed to the tense energetics around us, it’s important to protect ourselves so that we don’t hold on to these other energies. Some protection essences are Yarrow and  St. Johnswort.
Personally, I make myself a custom blend that I take throughout the season which usually contains a protection essence (keeps me from feeling drained after taking on too much outside energy), focus (to help with my to-do's) and presence (so I don't miss the meaningful and magical moments).
